Overview

Embark on 2-Day Gorilla Tracking Budget Tour in Uganda. This tour starts from Kigali international airport or any other place within Kigali and ends in Kigali. This tour can be customized to fit your needs such as adding days or extra activities to the itinerary. Please note that gorilla permits are very limited, and therefore early booking is highly advised. This tour gives a chance to people who would like to interact with Mountain gorillas in their natural habitats.

Arrival for the 2-Day Gorilla Tracking Budget Tour

You will be picked up from Kigali International Airport by our professional safari driver guide. If needed, accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged at an extra cost


 

Schedule Details

Day 1

Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Morning

  • Pickup & Departure: Your guide will meet you in Kigali. After a brief introduction, you will begin the journey to Uganda.
  • Border Crossing: Cross into Uganda via the Katuna border, with your guide assisting in the immigration process.

Afternoon

  • Arrival in Bwindi: Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, famously known as the home of mountain gorillas. Upon arrival, check in to your cozy accommodation at the lodge.
  • Relaxation: Spend the afternoon unwinding around the lodge, soaking in the serene forest atmosphere.

Evening

  • Dinner & Overnight: Enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by a restful night in preparation for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Main Destination:

  • Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Best Time to Visit:

  • June to August and December to February (Gorilla trekking is easiest).

Accommodation:

  • Buhoma Community Rest Camp (Budget lodge located just outside Buhoma, Bwindi Impenetrable NP).

Meals & Drinks:

  • Lunch and dinner included (breakfast not included).
  • Drinking water provided (other drinks at your expense).
Day 2

Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali

Morning

  • Early Breakfast: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the lodge.
  • Gorilla Trekking Briefing: Report to the park headquarters for a briefing on trekking protocols. Learn about the guidelines and what to expect during your trek.
  • Trekking Adventure: Venture into the dense forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may last 2–8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, you’ll spend up to an hour observing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

Afternoon

  • Return to Lodge: After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a brief rest.
  • Check Out: Pack your belongings and prepare for the journey back to Rwanda.

Evening

  • Transfer to Kigali: Your guide will drive you back to Kigali, ensuring a smooth and scenic journey.
  • Drop-off: Arrive at Kigali International Airport or any other designated location within Kigali.

  • Kigali (Rwanda)

  • No accommodation included (End of tour).
