Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park & Canopy Walk
- Morning Transfer: After an early breakfast, depart from Kigali and journey towards Nyungwe National Park, a scenic drive of about 5-6 hours through Rwanda’s rolling hills and tea plantations.
- Lunch En Route: Stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Butare or en route.
- Canopy Walk: Upon arrival in Nyungwe, embark on a thrilling canopy walk. This walk, suspended high above the forest floor, offers panoramic views of the lush rainforest and a chance to spot various primates and birds.
- Dinner & Overnight: Check into your lodge near Nyungwe Forest and enjoy a relaxing evening.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Lake Kivu
- Chimpanzee Trekking: Rise early for an exciting chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. Trek through dense rainforest to locate and observe a troop of wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
- Breakfast & Relaxation: Return to your lodge for breakfast and a short rest before checking out.
- Transfer to Lake Kivu: After lunch, drive to Lake Kivu, a journey of about 3 hours. Enjoy the stunning views as you approach this beautiful lake.
