Upon your arrival in Kigali, Rwanda for a 3 Day Gorilla Trip from Kigali our experienced guide will be waiting to welcome you. We recommend an early morning arrival to make the most of your first day. After meeting with your guide and getting acquainted, we will embark on a journey towards Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Mgahinga with a Stopover at the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Site

As we leave Kigali, we’ll make a poignant stop at the Rwanda Genocide Memorial Site.  The site serves as a powerful reminder of the country’s tragic history, with exhibits and memorials paying tribute to the lives lost during those dark days.

After paying our respects and gaining insight into Rwanda’s history, we’ll resume our journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The scenic drive takes you through rolling hills and picturesque landscapes, providing a glimpse into the beauty of both Rwanda and Uganda.

Upon reaching Mgahinga, you will check into your accommodation, where you can relax and prepare for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Afternoon Batwa Community Visit

Today marks the highlight of your trip – gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. After an early breakfast, we’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette and safety guidelines. You’ll then be assigned to a gorilla family group and set off into the lush, volcanic terrain in search of these magnificent creatures.

Gorilla trekking is a unique and awe-inspiring experience as you get up close and personal with these gentle giants in their natural habitat. The trek’s duration can vary, but the reward of encountering a gorilla family makes it all worthwhile. You’ll have an unforgettable hour to observe and photograph the gorillas as they go about their daily activities.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Batwa community, also known as the Pygmies. This indigenous group has a rich cultural heritage, and you’ll have the opportunity to interact with them, learn about their traditional way of life, and participate in their cultural activities. This visit provides valuable insights into the challenges and triumphs of the Batwa people.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kigali with a City Tour Visit

After a leisurely morning and breakfast, we’ll begin our journey back to Kigali. The drive allows you to savor the landscapes once more. Upon arriving in Kigali, we’ll embark on a city tour to explore the vibrant capital.

Highlights of the city tour may include the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, local markets, and other significant landmarks. The Kigali Genocide Memorial Center provides a comprehensive understanding of the events leading up to and during the genocide.

The city tour offers a chance to appreciate Kigali’s modernity and cleanliness while gaining a deeper understanding of Rwanda’s remarkable recovery and progress. Your guide will ensure you have a well-rounded experience, answering any questions and providing insights into Kigali’s culture and development.

After the city tour, you’ll be transferred to the airport or your chosen departure point, concluding your enriching journey from Kigali to Mgahinga.
