Day 1: Arrival in Kigali & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your adventure begins in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, where you will be met by a professional guide. After a brief city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, you will embark on a scenic drive across the border into Uganda. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park offers breathtaking views of rolling hills, lush forests, and vibrant villages. You will check into a cozy lodge near the park, where you will enjoy dinner and a restful night in preparation for your first gorilla trekking experience.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. The trek through the dense rainforest can last between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find a gorilla family, you will have one magical hour to observe and photograph these incredible primates as they interact, feed, and care for their young.

After the trek, you will return to your lodge for lunch before transferring to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. The drive offers stunning views of the Virunga Mountains and beautiful countryside. You will arrive at your lodge in the evening, ready for another exhilarating trek the next day.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

On this day, you will embark on your second gorilla trekking experience, this time in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. Just like in Bwindi, you will receive a briefing before setting off into the forest in search of a different gorilla family. The experience of trekking in a different terrain with another gorilla group offers a fresh perspective and new insights into their behavior.

After the trek, you will have the option to visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village. Where you will learn about Rwandan traditions, music, and dance. You will then return to your lodge for a well-deserved rest and reflection on your two incredible encounters with the gorillas.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking & Return to Kigali

Before heading back to Kigali, you will have the option to go on a golden monkey trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park. These playful and energetic primates are a joy to watch as they leap between the bamboo forests.

After the trek, you will begin your journey back to Kigali, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, you can do some last-minute shopping before heading to the airport for your departure flight.
