Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport and Transfer to Your Hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide, who will provide an introduction to your tour. After checking in at your hotel, you’ll have the opportunity to explore Kigali City. Take in its vibrant culture and history by strolling through this clean, green capital. Visit key landmarks and get a feel of Rwanda’s spirit before returning to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Visit King’s Palace and Ethnological Museum, Followed by Canopy Walk in Nyungwe National Park

After a delicious breakfast, embark on a scenic drive through Rwanda’s picturesque landscapes. Your first stop will be the King’s Palace Museum, which offers fascinating insights into Rwanda’s royal history and traditional lifestyle.

Next, visit the Ethnological Museum in Butare, immersing yourself in the rich cultural heritage of East Africa. The day concludes with an exhilarating canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park. Walk across a suspended bridge above the forest canopy, enjoying breathtaking views of the lush surroundings.

Day 3: Exploration of the Islands in Lake Kivu

Following breakfast, enjoy a leisurely 2.5-hour drive to Lake Kivu in Karongi. After a delightful lunch, we set out to explore the captivating islands of Lake Kivu. A hike on Napoleon Island provides stunning panoramic views of the verdant landscape. This offers a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility of this scenic setting.

Day 4: Transfer to Rubavu, Hike Mount Rubavu, and Visit the Hot Spring

Today’s journey takes you to Rubavu, where you will embark on an invigorating hike up Mount Rubavu. As you ascend, be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding terrain. Following the hike, unwind at the Rubavu Hot Spring, a natural thermal spa. Here, you can relax and rejuvenate amidst the soothing, warm waters.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali, Canoeing, Visit the Parliament Building, and Kimironko Local Market

Returning to Kigali, start your day with an adventurous canoeing experience on the Mukungwa River. Immerse yourself in Rwanda’s tranquil waterways. Next, visit the Parliament Building to gain insights into Rwanda’s political history and development. End your day at Kimironko Market, Kigali’s bustling marketplace, where you can engage with local vendors and shop for authentic Rwandan crafts.

Day 6-7: Safari in Akagera National Park

Embark on an unforgettable two-day safari in Akagera National Park. Start with game drives through the park, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, and possibly even lions.

On Day 7 of the 8-Day Rwanda Safari, enjoy a boat tour on Lake Ihema. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and water birds in their natural habitats. Both days promise thrilling and immersive wildlife encounters.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali and Departure.
