Day 1 of the 3 Days Mount Sabyinyo Volcano Hike: Arrive at Kigali International Airport
Morning:
- Arrive at Kigali International Airport (or pick-up from a hotel in Kigali).
- Meet our driver-guide and begin your journey to Volcanoes lodge in kisoro, Uganda.
- Enjoy the scenic drive through the picturesque Rwandan countryside and transfer to Uganda , Our guide shall help you on immigration from Rwanda to Uganda.
Lunch:
- Stop for lunch at a local restaurant or enjoy a packed lunch route.
Afternoon:
- Arrive at your lodge or camp near Mgahinga Gorilla National park.
- Check-in and take some time to relax and acclimatize to the altitude.
Evening:

- 8:00 AM – Start of Mount Sabyinyo Hike:
- Begin your hike of Mount Sabyinyo, which involves trekking through dense forest, rugged terrain, and up steep inclines.
- The hike typically takes about 6 to 8 hours, including short water breaks for relaxation of the muscles.
- Enjoy stunning views of the Virunga Mountains, lush vegetation, and the unique landscape of Mount Sabyinyo with over 120 bird species with the with inclusion of the beautiful Rwenzori turaco and on a lucky day we encounter some animals like bus bucks, forest buffalos and forest elephants.
